It is recognised that people from Caribbean and African backgrounds are more likely to experience health inequalities, emphasising the importance of being represented in research. For example, we know that people from these backgrounds are at greater risk of developing illnesses such as diabetes and long Covid. Taking part in research will help us to understand why.
Research for the Future is an award-winning, NHS supported campaign that helps people find out about and take part in health and care research. Getting involved in research means you are helping to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose and manage illnesses, and understand why some illnesses affect Caribbean and African people differently.
