Walk of Hope shines a light on suicide prevention

Trafford Council staff joined partners and residents on a journey of hope
Colleagues from Trafford Council joined residents, partners and community organisations for this year’s Walk of Hope, which took place across Trafford to raise awareness about suicide prevention and encourage people to talk about mental health.
The walk was part of the Greater Manchester Month of Hope – a campaign that runs throughout October to promote hope, remind us that suicide is preventable, and highlight the support available for anyone who is struggling.
Participants walked through key landmarks in Trafford, sharing stories, messages of hope and remembrance, and showing solidarity with those affected by suicide.
A short video from the day has been released to mark World Mental Health Day (10 October) – celebrating the community spirit, compassion and commitment to making Trafford a place where everyone feels supported.
